Tarpon Contracting Completes Second Floor Family & Recreation Space Upgrades at The Chelsea Hotel Toronto (Phase I)
Tarpon Contracting recently completed Phase I of renovations at The Chelsea Hotel Toronto, revitalizing key family, youth, and recreational spaces on the second floor to better serve guests while enhancing durability, safety, and overall experience.
The renovations included a fully transformed teen lounge, an upgraded kid centre, and significant improvements to the pool and waterslide areas. From custom millwork and modern lighting to durable flooring, waterproofing, and tile upgrades, each space was thoughtfully redesigned to balance functionality with visual impact.
Working within an active hospitality environment, our team managed the project from start to finish—coordinating trades, maintaining site safety, and ensuring seamless execution throughout. The result is a series of inviting, high-traffic spaces that feel refreshed, cohesive, and built to last—supporting the hotel’s commitment to comfort and family-friendly experiences.
Phase II is now underway, with renovations beginning on the 27th floor.

Surface preparation and coating work continued in Oakville, ON, as the Tarpon team completed power washing of the city’s wastewater plant walls and columns, prior to applying the final protective coating. The scope also included ongoing column repairs and preparation of an additional caulking section.
Proper surface preparation and detailed work are critical to coating performance, ensuring strong adhesion, consistent coverage, and long-term protection. A final wash down was completed after all equipment was removed, leaving the area clean and ready for service.

The Tarpon team recently carried out work that included joint drying, removal of existing caulking, and injection of one of two repair areas.
As colder temperatures cause structures to contract, joint deficiencies are often exposed—making timely repairs essential to prevent water intrusion and further deterioration and keep infrastructure performing as intended.

Work at GE Booth Train 3 began in December 2025 to address deteriorated concrete and exposed reinforcement. The scope included selective concrete removal, cleaning and protecting exposed rebar, and reinstating repairs through concrete patching to restore durability.
As the project continues into the new year, the focus remains on properly executed, long-term repairs that prioritize compatibility, bond, and performance.
