Tarpon Contracting Completes Second Floor Family & Recreation Space Upgrades at The Chelsea Hotel Toronto (Phase I)
Tarpon Contracting recently completed Phase I of renovations at The Chelsea Hotel Toronto, revitalizing key family, youth, and recreational spaces on the second floor to better serve guests while enhancing durability, safety, and overall experience.
The renovations included a fully transformed teen lounge, an upgraded kid centre, and significant improvements to the pool and waterslide areas. From custom millwork and modern lighting to durable flooring, waterproofing, and tile upgrades, each space was thoughtfully redesigned to balance functionality with visual impact.
Working within an active hospitality environment, our team managed the project from start to finish—coordinating trades, maintaining site safety, and ensuring seamless execution throughout. The result is a series of inviting, high-traffic spaces that feel refreshed, cohesive, and built to last—supporting the hotel’s commitment to comfort and family-friendly experiences.
Phase II is now underway, with renovations beginning on the 27th floor.

Bradford Water Pollution Control Plant Rehabilitation
Concrete rehabilitation work continues as the Tarpon team progresses through the next phase of repairs. Recent activities have included crack injection, injection port removal, and surface grinding following the completion of structural crack repairs. As each step plays an important role in restoring the integrity of the structure and extending the life of this critical wastewater facility, we look forward to sharing more updates as work progresses!

Mill St Reservoir
Expansion
Tarpon Contracting is currently on site at the Mill St. Reservoir Expansion, providing specialized concrete restoration and protective coating services. Since mobilizing in late June, our crews have completed extensive surface preparation, including power washing and coving, followed by the application of a multi-coat protective coating system to the reservoir walls. Work remains ongoing as we help protect this critical piece of water infrastructure for years to come.

GE Booth Train #3
Rehabilitation
In June, Tarpon Contracting returned to GE Booth Train 3 to continue rehabilitation efforts, focusing on the expansion joint system. The scope included the removal of existing deteriorated caulking, grinding and surface preparation of the joint interfaces, and preparation of the expansion joints to receive new sealant. Proper preparation is critical to achieving bond performance and long-term joint integrity, particularly in structures exposed to constant moisture, chemical exposure, and thermal movement. As with all rehabilitation work, the emphasis remained on thorough preparation and quality installation — ensuring the repaired joints can accommodate movement while helping prevent water intrusion and further deterioration of the surrounding concrete.

Tarpon Contracting completes Phase II of Renovations at The Chelsea Hotel, Toronto.
The scope included a refreshed entrance featuring new millwork, updated signage for The Heights, upgraded finishes, and enhanced functionality throughout. The weight room and gym were fully rebuilt with new flooring, feature slat walls, modern lighting, and upgraded electrical systems—creating clean, high-performance spaces designed for both durability and visual impact. Extensive upgrades were also completed in the pool and whirlpool areas, including ceiling refinishing, new non-slip flooring, lighting enhancements, the installation of feature walls, and a new concrete façade wall along the left-hand side of the pool area. Working within an active hospitality environment, our team once again delivered the project from start to finish—coordinating trades, maintaining safety, and ensuring seamless execution across all areas. The result is a cohesive, elevated space that enhances the guest experience while meeting the demands of high-traffic use.
